Modern Motor Club
VF Interiors took on a non-traditional design project at a country club in Joliet, Illinois that allowed us to flex creativity in exciting, new ways. The Autobahn Country Club is an exclusive auto racing club that offers its members an opportunity to build custom garage and living spaces. For this space, VF Interiors created a home that wasn’t overtly racing-themed or too modern. Instead, we drew inspiration from its owner’s European modern style to bring forth a warm, comfortable and inviting home comprised of detailed touches. The kitchen shines as a true highlight of this home, one created with a close eye on entertaining. The project allowed us to experiment with fresh, new materials – including a wood grained laminate cabinetry with a high gloss lacquer finish, a metallic brick backsplash and counters that show off a leather finish.
Customizing the look and feel to our client’s needs, the kitchen called for the addition of indulgent appliances for the entertainer in us all. We featured a humidor, wine cooler, beer fridge and espresso machine. Additional highlights of the project are featured in each of its bathrooms. We added white and gray porcelain tile to evoke the feeling of marble in the first floor bathroom. Antique tiles the client purchased in Iran now accent the master bathroom’s shower. Completed in just over one year, VF Interiors fully transformed 5,000 square feet of garage into a luxe living space.
